This Friday: Più 2026 Launch at Gallery 78
Kickstarting our 2026 season this Friday!
Hello friends,
This is a quick one - just a reminder that our series launch is coming up this Friday! As a sneaky insider scoop, at this show we’ll also be soft-launching a new monthly offering for the Fredericton music community — more on that soon, but for now, secrecy & surprises. :)
Ackerley & MacKelvie Mixtape - Feb 2026
@jessica_ackerley & @andrew.mackelvie made us a sweet little mixtape that you can listen to ahead of the show on Friday, featuring some of their past work + other artists whose music they’ve been digging lately. Check it out!

Guitarist and composer, Jessica Ackerley, has been described as “one of the most exciting guitarists to have emerged from the free music scene in recent years” (Wire Magazine). Expanding the lines between avant-garde jazz, contemporary classical, and ambient music, their music has garnered acclaim from publications like Pitchfork, BBC Radio, Wire Magazine, Musicworks and BandCamp, making multiple critics’ year end lists.
Andrew MacKelvie is a saxophonist, improviser, bandleader, and educator based in Halifax Nova Scotia. He plays in many bands ranging in styles from rock, ambient, and free jazz such as SCIONS, Bethany, Transatlantic Zodiac Ensemble, the 6 Star Revue, and formerly with Jerry Granelli. He runs projects such as New Hermitage, Many Worlds, and Borrowers, in addition to playing solo under his own name. He has a degree in jazz studies, an education degree from Memorial, and was mentored by Jerry Granelli in improvisation and education for over a decade until his passing in 2021. In his free time, Andrew co-runs the independent record label Watch That Ends The Night.
